Repair

1st Shift - 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday, with flexible hours, overtime, and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Verify SKU
• Inspect carpet
• Mark defects or repairs
• Verify width, style, and color
• Check bow/skew
• Perform sidematch
• Determine defect codes
• Repair and/or cut greige rolls
• Repair finished rolls
• Perform re-measures
• Perform administrative duties
• Sharpen the cross-cut knife
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Complete any other tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Prior greige goods or finished goods repair experience
• Computer experience (SAP preferred)
• Good communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers
• Ability to pass a color perception test
• Ability to repair greige and finished rolls

Physical Demands

• Able to stand for at least nine (9) hours of a ten (10) hour shift
• Able to bend/kneel to repair short-term defects
• Available up to 14 hours a day with little advance notice
• Able to lift up to 80 lbs on a regular basis
• Able to spend moderate time working on hands and knees
• Able to pull and thread greige goods through roll-up
• Able to ascend and descend steps on repair table numerous times during the shift

Color Deficiency Test

• Must pass the Ishihara test for color deficiency
• Must score 50 or less on the FM-100 Color Test

Training

• Complete approximately two (2) weeks of training under supervision of a qualified associate
• Obtain and maintain a certified LTO license (recertification every two years)

Safety and Security

• Abide by corporate safety rules and follow all security guidelines
• Report any unsafe activity to direct supervisor
• Wear safety glasses when operating a lift truck or using compressed air
• Use legs for leverage when lifting heavy objects; bend legs before lifting
• Use scissors safely; keep scissors in holster while not in use
• Keep air hoses hung up and out of the floor to avoid tripping
• Take all necessary precautions when using carpet cleaning chemicals
• Be aware of lift truck traffic
• Wear eye protection when using GTO 2000 for cleaning carpet
• Drag cores instead of pushing them to avoid slip/trip hazards
