Repack General Labor - 1st Shift
Richelieu Foods, Inc. is a leading national private-label and contract-packing food manufacturer focused on frozen pizza. With two manufacturing facilities in Illinois and Wisconsin, we supply products to national retailers, wholesalers, distributors, club and mass stores, and industrial accounts.
About the role
This position is responsible for the effective continuous operation and change-over of the pizza production line. You will work between the crust and boxing ends, which may include laying pizza crust, stacking pizzas, and packing them in boxes. The role also involves tracking inventories, verifying code dates, and communicating equipment issues to maintenance and supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain continuous pizza production line, including change-overs.
- Work at both the crust and boxing ends of the line (laying crust, stacking, and packing pizzas).
- Track inventories, ingredient counts, and finished product quantities.
- Verify and communicate code dates to coworkers.
- Report equipment problems to maintenance and supervision promptly.
- Notify supervision of actual or potential production issues.
- Follow verbal instructions from supervision.
- Comply with GMPs, maintain sanitation, and ensure proper housekeeping in the work area.
- Use required safety equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Lift up to 40 lbs. regularly and handle wood pallets up to 70 lbs. occasionally.
- Rotate to various jobs on the pizza line, which may involve frequent bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Stand for up to 10 hours per day.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management or volunteered for.
Requirements
- Ability to work under direct supervision and follow instructions.
- Must be able to stand for the duration of a 10-hour production shift.
- Regularly required to talk, hear, use hands, and reach with arms.
- Frequently required to walk and occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., frequently lift and/or move up to 40 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move more than 70 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and power industrial trucks.
- Frequent exposure to cold, wet, and/or humid conditions.
- Loud noise level in the work environment.
Schedule
Production staff work a Monday–Saturday rotating schedule of four to six days per week, with 10-hour shifts.
Pay
Starting hourly rate is $17.25, with eligibility for overtime pay.
