Rental Sales Associate

About the role

This is where most of our team begins. The Rental Sales Associate role is designed for students who enjoy working with people, like being active, and want to build real-world skills in communication, responsibility, and teamwork. You’ll learn how to help customers feel confident and excited about their experience — whether they’re renting bikes for the day or purchasing gear for the season. We don’t expect perfection. We expect effort, curiosity, and a willingness to improve.

Responsibilities

Customer Experience

• Greet customers and guide them through the rental process
• Help size riders properly to bicycles
• Prepare bikes carefully and accurately
• Answer questions with confidence (we’ll train you)

Sales & Register Work

• Operate the cash register
• Sell accessories and apparel
• Recommend add-on items that improve the customer’s experience
• In your second summer, begin selling bicycles and car racks with support

Operations

• Change pedals and pressurize suspension (training provided)
• Help keep the store and rental area clean and organized
• Support delivery preparation when needed

Requirements

• Friendly and clear communicator
• Willing to learn and take feedback
• Detail-oriented and responsible
• Comfortable riding bicycles

Strong performance here opens the door to leadership roles in future summers.

Pay

• Ages 14-15: $14 to $15 per hour
• Ages 16-17: $15 to $16.50 per hour
• Ages 18+: $16 to $18 per hour
