Rental Equipment Technician

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair rental equipment
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of services and repairs
  • Maintains work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations
  • Demonstrates dependability
  • Basic computer/typing skills and ability to learn Microsoft products and other systems.
  • Experience with basic hand tools.
  • Ability to obtain job related certifications for any specialty equipment including but not limited to light towers, forklifts, manlifts, generators, rig vacs, and pumps.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Consistent attendance with the ability to work overtime and travel, as needed.
  • Identifies engine components and operation.
  • Understands equipment component operation and identify issues.
  • Identify electrical system components and operation.
  • Exhibits basic understanding of hydraulic components and operation.
  • Identify operational issues on aerial and oil field equipment according to provided checklists.
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance and lubrication on equipment.
  • Safely performs machine condition inspections and general fleet maintenance.

Skills and Abilities

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to maintain insurability with Company insurance.
  • Must have at least two (2) years’ experience repairing general construction equipment.
  • Must have diesel repair experience including common rail fuel systems and the use of electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid drivers license
  • Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail to find root cause for equipment failures
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification
  • Capable of performing a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, reaching, bending, climbing and kneeling
  • Experience with hydraulics/pneumatics, wiring, and working on heavy equipment
  • Proficient in reading and understand technical documents, diagrams, and service manuals
  • Welding, cutting, and fabrication skill
  • Must provide own basic tools and storage for them.

Pay

$25-30/hour depending on experience
