About the role

The Rental Equipment Sales Representative's primary purpose is to generate revenue by renting CAT & allied equipment, selling of non-hour metered allied equipment and merchandise, and selling Wagner Rents equipment service capabilities in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.”

Responsibilities

  • Generates rental revenue and consumable revenue
  • Enhances sales coverage within a designated territory
  • Develops weekly sales forecasts
  • Manages business related expenses
  • Interfaces with other Wagner field personnel and departments
  • Responds to customer calls
  • Conducts face-to-face cold calls to prospective customers
  • Develops new accounts within the designated territory
  • Serves current rental and sales customers' needs
  • Maintains knowledge on all products and services for sale and rent
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 10+ years sales experience in the heavy or rental equipment industry
  • 1+ years administrative/clerical experience
  • 3+ years customer service experience
  • 3+ years sales experience

Qualifications

  • Preferably some college or trade school

  • Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing
  • Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
  • Safety & Product Knowledge
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.
  • Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
