Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly as they arrive at the store, resolve customer problems, fill propane tanks, keep showroom, trucks and work areas clean
- Demonstrate equipment features to customers and assist with loading and unloading of equipment
- Organize and maintain the equipment yard to promote safety and efficiency
- Perform quality control checks to ensure all equipment is safe, clean, and in top working condition
- Inspect returned equipment for fuel levels, operating hours, and general wear or damage
- Wash and clean returned equipment to make sure it’s rental-ready for the next customer
- Conduct minor maintenance and coordinate with mechanics for more extensive repairs
- Maintain a positive, customer-first attitude and deliver outstanding service
- Understand and accurately interpret rental contracts
- Work with a strong focus on personal and team safety, following all company protocols and procedures
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications
- Must possess excellent customer service skills
- Must be able to provide, understand and complete written and verbal instructions
- Maintain a cooperative relationship with co-workers
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of patience
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems
- Must be able to speak English clearly and write legibly. Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Must pass a company drug screen
- Must have a valid driver’s license (21 years of age or over for driving positions)
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required
Working conditions
- Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward.
- Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
- Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles.
- Heavy work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
- The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
