Rental Account Manager

About the Role

As a Customer Service Coordinator (Rental Account Manager), you’ll be the primary Rental Sales/Marketing function at the business unit level, supporting Ryder’s commercial rental and trailer services product lines. Your role will drive profitable new account generation, retain existing accounts, and grow pure rental revenue while improving profitability and Return on Assets. Additionally, you’ll act as a lease sales filter, enhancing lease sales productivity and performance for the organization.

Responsibilities

• Sales:
  • Develop leads through cold calls, telephone solicitation, and customer visits.
  • Assess customer needs using product knowledge and develop competitive proposals.
  • Collaborate with rental operations to ensure equipment availability.
  • Market at the branch level and train Rental Sales Representatives in telemarketing and prospecting.
• Customer Retention:
  • Maintain regular contact with customers through visits and calls.
  • Handle customer complaints and stay abreast of long-term rental needs.
  • Retain customers in a price-competitive market through relationship-building.
• Time Administration:
  • Develop proposals and contracts, maintain customer files, and prepare follow-up correspondence.
  • Ensure FIS integrity and accuracy of customer data in the DPS system.
  • Manage credit approval, collections, and preventive maintenance scheduling.
  • Follow company procedures and handle collections diplomatically.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or 5 years of equivalent job-related experience.
• One (1) year or more of sales experience or equivalent sales training (required).
• Three (3) years or more of sales experience (preferred).
• One (1) year or more of industry experience (preferred).

Pay

Base Salary: $55,000 + uncapped commission.

• Average Commission Year One: $15,000 - $20,000.
• Average Commission Year Two: $20,000 - $25,000+.

Total compensation may reach up to $75,000 with commission.

Schedule

• Hours: First Shift.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday.
• Location: Cleveland, OH (territory includes Cleveland, Akron, and Youngstown).
