Renewal Underwriter-Commercial P&C

About the role

The Jencap Renewal Underwriter plays a crucial part in maintaining high levels of service and responsiveness on current accounts. This role involves working with agents, brokers, and internal teams to underwrite profitable business within the company's authority level.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability, quality, and profitability of existing business based on company underwriting guidelines and objectives within authority level.
• Collect, maintain, and analyze data to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Manage assigned territory to ensure renewals, endorsements, claim reviews, and related transactions are completed accurately within accepted corporate time frames.
• Treat all inquiries professionally, providing timely, courteous, and efficient customer service to agents, policyholders, team members, and other departments.
• Make recommendations to Senior Underwriter or Supervisor on selected risks beyond assigned authority level.
• Meet regularly with the broker/underwriting teams on strategy and follow-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of work-related experience in P&C renewal underwriting process.
• Participate in company organized, prescribed, or designated insurance seminars and workshops on or off premises.

Pay

Base salary offered based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.

Hybrid schedule in the Santa Rosa, CA Office.
