About the Role

As the Renewables Training Manager, you will develop, deliver, and continuously improve the technical and safety training programs that support field personnel across wind, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and solar operations. You will serve as the subject matter expert for Global Wind Organization (GWO) training programs, including Basic Safety Training (BST) and Advanced Rescue Training (ART). Additionally, you will build a scalable training framework to expand capabilities into Basic Technical Training (BTT), battery storage technologies, and solar field services. You will combine hands-on instruction, curriculum development, training strategy, and workforce capability planning to ensure field technicians possess the skills, certifications, and competencies required to safely execute operations and maintenance activities across renewable energy assets.

You will report to the Director of Operations, Renewables and will be based out of our Oklahoma City, OK facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of company-wide technical and safety training programs for field service personnel.
  • Serve as primary instructor and program owner for GWO BST and GWO ART certifications.
  • Establish annual training plans aligned with operational needs, workforce growth, and customer requirements.
  • Ensure training programs support technician onboarding, qualification progression, recertification, and leadership development.
  • Develop training metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure effectiveness, competency, and training ROI.
  • Design, develop, and maintain instructor-led, hands-on, virtual, and blended learning curricula.
  • Create lesson plans, training manuals, assessments, practical exercises, and competency evaluations.
  • Expand training offerings and develop a strategic roadmap to expand training capabilities as required.
  • Incorporate lessons learned, industry best practices, and operational performance trends into training content.
  • Conduct classroom, practical, and field-based technical and safety training.
  • Facilitate GWO-certified courses while maintaining compliance with GWO standards.
  • Deliver hands-on rescue, emergency response, and technical skills training.
  • Evaluate trainee competency through practical assessments and examinations.
  • Provide coaching and remediation plans for personnel requiring additional development.
  • Support apprenticeship and technician development programs.
  • Identify future workforce skill requirements and recommend training investments.
  • Ensure all training programs comply with GWO, OSHA, company safety policies, and customer training requirements.
  • Maintain instructor qualifications and training records.
  • Lead audits and program reviews by GWO and training partners.
  • Ensure training equipment, rescue gear, and facilities meet operational and safety standards.
  • Partner with Operations, EHS, Quality, Service Leadership, and HR teams to align training initiatives with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with OEMs, industry organizations, and external training providers to develop training content and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Technical Education, Occupational Safety, Renewable Energy, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in renewable energy field services, technical operations, or training.
  • Experience delivering technical or safety training programs.
  • Knowledge of wind turbine operations and maintenance.
  • Current or previous GWO BST and ART instructor qualification, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience conducting hands-on practical training in field environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 50%.

Pay

The base salary range for this position, dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $112,400.00 to $140,500.00 per year.
