Renewables Designer II

Responsibilities

• Develop and revise electrical design drawings and 3D models for utility-scale PV, DG, BESS, and MV systems, including equipment layouts, power plans, and construction details.
• Perform electrical calculations including power loads, feeder sizing, protection sizing, demand load summaries, and lighting/illumination analysis under engineering supervision.
• Cook up with engineering, field teams, subcontractors, and civil/structural disciplines to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
• Review manufacturer submittals, create installation details, and support the layout of PV arrays, BESS equipment, MV infrastructure, and site lighting for construction documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of electrical load calculations, feeder sizing, power distribution, and lighting design for commercial, industrial, or renewable energy projects.
• Experience developing complete electrical design and construction drawing packages with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Autodesk Revit, Civil 3D, AutoCAD MEP/Map3D, Illuminance software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Earth.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior designers, coordinate multiple project priorities, and work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent field surveying, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to collaborate professionally across engineering teams, clients, vendors, and contractors.
