Remote Transcriptionist

About the role

This role focuses on converting audio and video recordings into accurate, well-formatted written transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Listen to recordings, transcribe content, proofread for accuracy, and format documents to client specifications.
• Research terminology to ensure accuracy.
• Add timestamps and speaker labels as required.
• Meet accuracy and turnaround-time targets.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive recordings.
• Flag unclear audio and follow up as needed.
• Maintain organized digital files and records.
• Use transcription software and productivity tools.
• Review completed work before submission.
• Perform additional transcription and documentation tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• An associate's or bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related field preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in transcription, data entry, administrative, or related roles.
• A fast and accurate typing speed of 50 or more words per minute preferred.
• Strong grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
• Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable using transcription and word-processing software.
• The ability to manage deadlines independently.
• The ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• A reliable high-speed internet connection and a quality headset.
