REMOTE Tax Manager - PCS, Individual, Estate, Gift - $150k+

About the role
This Tax Manager position is responsible for providing tax services to clients, including federal, state, and local income tax preparation, tax projections and analysis, and notice resolution. The role involves client-facing activities, delivering comprehensive tax services to existing clients, and assisting advisors and the financial planning team with strategic tax planning.
This is a full-time, exempt role based in Cincinnati, OH, with a hybrid work arrangement available for candidates located near one of our offices.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical knowledge to prepare and review income, estate/trust, and gift tax returns; provide feedback to staff.
- Review situations and transactions to determine federal, state, and local filing requirements.
- Analyze and respond to IRS, state, and local tax agency notices.
- Participate in internal strategy discussions with clients and collaborate with their financial advisors.
- Identify and resolve client tax-related questions and issues.
- Exhibit strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation) with clients, advisors, tax authorities, firm staff, and management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree (accounting preferred).
- Valid CPA license.
- 6+ years of experience in individual, trust, and gift tax return preparation and review.
- Proficiency in income tax planning and compliance.
- Multi-state tax preparation/filing experience preferred.
- Experience with Form 1041 (Trust & Estate) and Form 709 (Gift) returns.
- Strong Excel and other software skills; Intuit Lacerte tax software experience preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and client service skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, clients, and tight deadlines.
