Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, low-latency backend services using performance-oriented languages such as C/C++, Go, Rust, or Java.
• Optimize systems for latency, throughput, and reliability, profiling and debugging production systems.
• Build and operate distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven architectures using platforms like Kafka or Pulsar.
• Ensure system security, availability, and scalability, diagnosing and resolving production issues.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and data teams to integrate systems effectively.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and uphold engineering standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• 4–7+ years of backend development experience, proficient in C/C++ or similar systems languages.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, concurrency, memory management, and low-latency system design.
• Experience debugging production issues on Linux and ensuring system correctness and performance.
• (Plus) Experience with trading, HFT, gaming, telecom, or other latency-sensitive fields.
• (Plus) Experience with Kafka, Pulsar, gRPC, Protobuf, ZeroMQ, cloud deployment, and containerization.
