Position Summary

The Compliance position facilitates more complex interactions with Plan Consultants, ensuring compliance with regulations and supporting audits.

Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reads and comprehends retirement plan provisions to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Understands and applies legislation and regulations, including IRS, DOL, and ERISA, to prepare, analyze, and interpret information.
  • Supports DOL, IRS, and Large plan audits.
  • Supports Plan Consultants in resolving operational and compliance issues related to qualified plans.
  • Responsible for plan administration, compliance, and testing for identified blocks of business.
  • Tracks and monitors job progress to ensure necessary data is requested and received for compliance deadlines.
  • Prepares annual valuation and compliance reports for clients.
  • Provides detailed consultations with Plan Consultants on drafting plan documents, plan amendments, and other legal documents.
  • Completes assigned quality assurance reviews.
  • Protects, secures, and handles confidential data properly to prevent unauthorized access, improper transmission, and disclosure.
  • Supports other tasks and projects as assigned.

Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 to 8+ years of hands-on Retirement plan testing experience
  • Experience with 5500’s and other relevant documents
  • Experience with cash basis and/or trust accounting
  • Strong Word, Excel, and Outlook skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills
  • Experience with plan administration software, such as FT Williams or ASC preferred
  • Retirement Plan Fundamentals certification preferred
  • QKA designation preferred
  • Associates QPA designation preferred

Pay and Benefits

The national average salary is $65,000 - $95,000, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This salary range represents the low and high end for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. Other rewards and benefits may include: 401(k) match, Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid-Time-Off, etc.
