REMOTE Patient Intake Representative
Key Responsibilities
- Handle approximately 60+ inbound calls per day from patients, providers, and referral sources.
- Process new requests for home healthcare services and durable medical equipment.
- Provide updates regarding the status of existing service requests.
- Gather required patient information and accurately document interactions.
- Navigate multiple applications and systems simultaneously while managing calls.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and PHI regulations.
- Meet established metrics for attendance, productivity, quality, and schedule adherence.
- Demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and strong problem-solving skills during customer interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a call centre environment.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare industry experience.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience with patient services, patient access, insurance verification, or healthcare customer support.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to work across multiple screens and systems simultaneously.
- Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel.
- Able to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous patient intake experience.
- Experience supporting home healthcare, medical equipment, healthcare authorisations, or healthcare referrals.
- Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and patient service processes.
About the Role
This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
