The Boring Company is seeking a Remote Operations Engineer to oversee mining operations remotely from the Global Operations Control Center (GOCC).

Responsibilities

  • Remotely observe, advise, and direct mining operations.
  • Record and document mining-process failures affecting cost, speed, or reliability.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for standardizing mining operations and maximizing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize field operations, improve productivity, and reduce downtime.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of tunneling equipment.
  • Develop and implement training programs for field and operations personnel.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and propose solutions.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, production engineering, manufacturing, logistics, integration engineering, project management, or a related field.
  • A master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in remote-controlled field operations, preferably in a military, mining, or infrastructure-related industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and robotic systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with tools for data-driven decision making.
  • Solid project management skills, prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing resources effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, building relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including spending up to 10% of the time in the tunnel.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in construction or similar industries.
  • Experience with supply chain management and logistics is highly desirable.
