Remote Medical Director, Pharmacy

For our client, we are seeking a Remote Medical Director, Pharmacy to join the team of a leader in the Hospitals & Medical Centers space. This role will provide medical leadership for pharmacy-related utilization management, quality improvement, and care coordination efforts across complex clinical services. The position partners with clinical teams and stakeholders to strengthen care quality, support cost-effective decision-making, and help ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards. It also plays a key role in reviewing challenging medical cases, guiding provider performance improvement, and advancing initiatives that support high-risk patient care. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $236,500 – $449,300 annually Responsibilities Direct and coordinate medical management and quality improvement initiatives Perform medical reviews for utilization and quality assurance on complex services Implement performance improvement initiatives for providers Establish goals and policies to enhance care quality and cost-effectiveness Provide medical expertise for quality improvement programs in line with regulatory standards Conduct assessments and coordinate care for high-risk patients with clinical teams Review complex medical cases with stakeholders to ensure appropriate care Qualifications Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required Utilization Management experience preferred, with knowledge of quality accreditation standards Active medical practice required Coursework in Health Administration, Financing, Insurance, or Personnel Management preferred Experience managing care for a culturally diverse population preferred Benefits Comprehensive health insurance coverage 401K and stock purchase plans available Tuition reimbursement programs Generous paid time off and holidays Flexible work arrangements including remote, hybrid, or office options Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
