About the role
TSI is seeking a customer service agent with a medical background to act as a centralized resource to facilitate quality gap closure, including scheduling doctor appointments for patient exams. This is a remote/work-from-home position.
Responsibilities
- Schedule appointments for patient consultations, procedures, and follow-up visits with medical personnel via phone calls to patients
- Update/request doctor appointments via EPIC client system, including but not limited to: Mammo; Colon; A1C; Neuropathy; WCC; Annual Wellness; Basic Metabolic Panel; Dexa Bone Density; Hospital TCM; Fit Kit; Cologuard; Eye exam
- Make patient reminder and follow-up calls prior to next visits
- Enter all patient data accurately in client system for medical reference
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals about schedules, patients, and any changes
- Resolve scheduling conflicts as they occur
- Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
- Serve and protect the physician or healthcare provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, HIPAA, and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards
- Deliver compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
- 1–2 years’ prior experience in a medical office setting
- Experience with EPIC platform for patient scheduling required
- Experience with clinical roles for population health scope of work is a plus
- Strong work ethic that exhibits high ethical and moral standards
- Must be able to communicate effectively with high interpersonal skills to assist patients
