Remote Junior Graphic Designer – Canva & Social Media

This role focuses on providing ongoing design support for a research commercialisation and entrepreneurship hub, transforming finished content into polished, branded assets. The designer will work within established Canva templates and a defined brand kit to create engaging social media graphics, carousels, formatted documents, and email layouts. The position is execution-focused, requiring a keen eye for detail and the ability to expand the existing Canva system with new templates as needed. The workload is a few flexible hours per week, with the potential to increase during busier periods. Preference is given to designers based in Auckland or elsewhere in New Zealand. Deliverables Design and produce static and carousel graphics for Instagram and LinkedIn using existing Canva templates and brand guidelines. Build and format emails in Flodesk, adhering to pre-set templates and brand standards. Layout and format editorial content, including reports, memos, and longer-form documents. Identify gaps in the current Canva template system and develop new templates that align with established logos, colours, and fonts. Ensure all assets maintain consistency with the brand kit and meet quality standards. Deliver work within agreed timelines, adapting to periods of increased demand. Requirements Proficiency in Canva, with experience working within brand kits and template systems. Ability to design new templates that adhere to established branding. Familiarity with Flodesk or similar email design platforms. Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent, high-quality output. Comfortable working in an execution-focused role, rather than brand or content strategy. Fast turnaround times and ability to manage flexible, ongoing workloads. Based in Auckland or New Zealand preferred.
