Responsibilities
- Achieve innovative digital I&C design through collaboration with visionary teams.
- Tackle complex challenges, develop system solutions, and create impactful designs that shape the future of control systems.
- Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities, including PLC, DCS, networked computer systems, and digital instrumentation & control systems functional requirements.
- Coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
- Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components.
- Prepare and review detailed calculations, including scaling, uncertainty, and setpoint calculations for analog and digital controls applications.
- Prepare documentation for design input for drawing production including master diagrams and schematics.
- Perform design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
- Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development.
- Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activities.
- Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications.
- Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships.
- Conduct site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar engineering degree.
- Professional Engineering License.
- At least 10 years of I&C engineering experience.
- Experience with nuclear design projects.
- Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms.
- Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants.
- Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
- Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Pay
Compensation Range: USD $140,000.00 - USD $165,000.00 /Yr.
