Remote ED Coder

Job Description

The remote ED Coder is responsible for assigning Injections/Infusions, facility E/M diagnosis and appropriate Modifier codes using ICD-10-CM utilizing coding systems. Experience with diagnosis coding, some manual charges, E/M leveling, and any procedures. Responsible for coding Outpatient records with a focus on ED accounts assuring proper CPT, ICD-10 assignment for all coded records. Will also move around to help out as needed with Labs accounts. Communicate with the Workforce Manager when necessary.

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of 3M encoder, Meditech is required.
• Must have a minimum 2yrs recent Acute Care Outpatient coding experience.
• Comfortable with hitting a 95% accuracy or better and hitting productivity standards.
• Knowledge of medical/surgical terminology.
