Remote California Tutor

About the role

Axiom Learning partners with LAUSD to provide academic support for students of all ages and profiles. Tutors help students master academic subjects while coaching them in Executive Functioning skills such as time management, organization, and avoiding procrastination. The curriculum is customized to each student's learning profile and socio‑emotional needs, offering support from textbook‑based instruction to real‑world applications, including extra support or additional challenge.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic support to LAUSD students.
• Prepare weekly and quarterly progress reports.
• Give updates on student progress and discuss questions or concerns.
• Take the lead on initiatives that support Axiom’s mission statement.

Requirements

• Currently working toward a B.A./B.S. or have already graduated.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills and follow‑through on tasks.
• Some work experience in teaching or a related field is preferred.
• Ambition and readiness to change the world.

Pay

$35 per hour instruction rate.

Schedule

• Guaranteed minimum of 3 hours per week; typical load 3‑5 hours per week with possibility of additional hours based on student needs, scheduling, and tutor availability.
• Availability required between 2 pm – 5 pm PST, Monday through Friday.
• Part‑time position.
