Remote Behavioral Medical Director, Central Region

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership for utilization management and medical quality improvement activities
  • Conduct medical review for utilization and quality assurance of complex medical services
  • Support the implementation of performance improvement initiatives for capitated providers
  • Aid in planning and establishing quality and cost-effectiveness goals and policies
  • Cook up care quality, team performance, and measurable outcomes within a healthcare environment
  • Coordinate care for high-risk patients through regular rounds with care management teams
  • Collaborate with clinical teams and providers to review complex cases and appeals

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree required, actively practicing medicine
  • Experience in utilization management and understanding of quality accreditation standards is preferred
  • Coursework in Health Administration, Health Financing, Insurance, or Personnel Management is advantageous
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations preferred
  • Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required; Child Psychiatry certification preferred
  • Current state MD or DO license without restrictions or sanctions
