Responsibilities
- Provide medical leadership for utilization management and medical quality improvement activities
- Conduct medical review for utilization and quality assurance of complex medical services
- Support the implementation of performance improvement initiatives for capitated providers
- Aid in planning and establishing quality and cost-effectiveness goals and policies
- Cook up care quality, team performance, and measurable outcomes within a healthcare environment
- Coordinate care for high-risk patients through regular rounds with care management teams
- Collaborate with clinical teams and providers to review complex cases and appeals
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required, actively practicing medicine
- Experience in utilization management and understanding of quality accreditation standards is preferred
- Coursework in Health Administration, Health Financing, Insurance, or Personnel Management is advantageous
- Experience with culturally diverse populations preferred
- Board certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology required; Child Psychiatry certification preferred
- Current state MD or DO license without restrictions or sanctions
