Role Overview
Sought is a high-performing, self-driven Account Executive to expand cybersecurity services within State, Local Government, and Education (SLED) accounts in the Northeast region. Key duties include developing territory strategies, engaging with government agencies, navigating procurement processes, and managing a sales pipeline.
Responsibilities
- Expand accounts through prospecting, discovery, proposal, negotiation, and closing
- Execute territory plans, identify opportunities, and meet targets
- Drive new business via outbound activities and industry engagement
- Build relationships with stakeholders such as CISOs, CIOs, and procurement officers
- Collaborate internally on proposals, solutions, and market intelligence
- Navigate public sector procurement and develop contracting vehicles
- Manage CRM pipeline, identify upsell opportunities, and contribute to team knowledge
Qualifications
- Proven success in selling cybersecurity solutions with a focus on MSSP, MDR, or security products
- Familiarity with public sector procurement processes
- Track record of exceeding quotas in a business development role
- Experience with complex organizations and long sales cycles
- Strong consultative, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-starter with territory management capabilities
Preferred Skills
- Existing relationships with government or educational institutions
- Experience with MSSP or VARs and familiarity with security frameworks
- CRM experience, particularly Salesforce
