About the role

This role is typically attained through 6 -10 years related experience in environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contaminated project sites are investigated and remediated in accordance with federal, state and local government regulations.
  • Manage all aspects of long-term remediation projects, including schedule, budget, remediation system design, operation and compliance, regulatory agency coordination and consultation, and environmental consultant contracting and performance.
  • Collaborate with consultants, regulators and internal stakeholders to identify the optimum remedy and to accomplish project objectives.
  • Solicit proposals, review and present technical approach and costs to internal customers for financial approval, execute the project with the selected consultant/contractor, manage the overall progress of the project, and track and report on the cost and status.
  • Support other departments within ONEOK, including Environmental Compliance, Legal, Insurance and Commercial, for spills/releases, laboratory selection, document review, legal actions, insurance claims, and due diligence.
  • Support ongoing development of the remediation program by participating in the development of guidance documents, templates, and financial and project management tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in environmental, natural science, engineering preferred and/or a combination of formal education and the following job-related experience: 6 -10 years related experience in environmental compliance.
  • Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations and standards and their applicability to operations.
  • Ability to analyze, research, compile, and prepare permit applications, logs, reports, and correspondence and company responses to agency requests.
  • Ability to evaluate, research, and interpret governmental regulations, equipment performance manuals, regulatory agency guidance and instructions, reports, correspondence, and company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to pay attention to details.
  • Ability to apply math, algebraic formulas, and statistics.
  • Ability to interact, advise and communicate effectively, exchange information/provide instructions, conduct verbal presentations.
  • Ability to develop communications utilizing fundamental technical writing skills.
  • Ability to present training materials.
  • Ability to utilize office equipment including computers and applicable job-related software, including Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to operate tools/equipment.
