Reman Service Technician (non-office)

Essential Functions

• Evaluate, tear down, rebuild, and test Ponsse components such as engines, rotators, saw tensioners, transfer boxes, splitter boxes, differentials, slewing motors, cylinders, DAFO systems, SKF Grease systems, and preheaters.
• Disassemble machine components in an orderly manner and catalog the disassembled parts.
• Assist or lead with cleaning of component parts.
• Disassemble and rebuild components according to service manuals and procedures.
• Show basic understanding of SIS, IFS, and other software programs as needed.
• Enroll in training opportunities as available and relevant.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Reman Technician has limited supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to talk and hear.
• Frequent lifting and/or moving of items over 50 pounds.
• Regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb all day.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7a.m. to 5p.m.

Travel

This position requires minimal travel.

Required Education And Experience

• Two-year degree in heavy equipment technician program or
• Three years of experience and/or training in heavy equipment repair and maintenance shop.

Language Skills

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees of the organization.
• Speak English fluently.
