About the role
Our central coast CA offices have an excellent opportunity for an Environmental Remediation System Technician. This is an opportunity for a rising individual to join a large, well-established organization with a culture that promotes teamwork, integrity, and respect. You will work closely with our highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services. This position is on-site at client projects in the central coast region of California.
Responsibilities
- Provide Operation, Maintenance and Monitoring expertise on a diverse environmental restoration project, with a focus on environmental remediation systems including groundwater collection/extraction system wells and pumps, conveyance pumps and lines, and treatment systems comprised of storage tanks, clarifiers, bag filters, organo-clay and carbon vessels
- Field implementation of routine operation and system maintenance tasks
- Oversight of remedial contractors for routine maintenance items, system maintenance including carbon and organo-clay change outs, and mechanical and electrical repairs
- Environmental compliance monitoring of treatment systems and sampling of groundwater consistent with approved plans
- Responding to system alarms in person and occasionally remotely
- Documentation of all work in field notes, forms, and electronic records
Requirements
- Strong foundation, experience, and proficiency in operation and maintenance of remediation treatment systems and environmental field work
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting experience
- Experience with county and state regulatory agencies preferred
- Proven professional judgement, including identifying, assessing, evaluating, and solving problems
- Written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely convey complex issues
- Strong teammate, with the ability to work independently when required, collaborative in open sharing of information and knowledge with the team
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of experience with solid technical knowledge and skills in operation, maintenance, and field tasks related to environmental remediation and restoration projects
- Construction experience a plus
- OSHA 40-Hr HAZWOPER certification
Pay
$34.00-$58.00 per hour based on experience
