About the role
The Youth Development Specialist supports BGCB members, core programs, and activities. Responsibilities include delivering quality programs, supervising members, and participating in collaborative events.
Responsibilities
- Deliver remote and in-person learning support for BGCB members and programs.
- Supervise and discipline members as needed.
- Collaborate with staff from other clubhouse departments and community organizations.
- Maintain a safe and clean program area.
- Attend individual and group supervision sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Assess and report on the impact of programs through annual member surveys.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with at least 1 year of experience in youth recreation programs.
- CPR/FA certification.
- Ability to multi-task and be flexible.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with youth from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work clubhouse hours, including summer hours from 8:00am-6:00pm.
- Willingness to work up to an 8-hour shift.
Qualifications
- Preferred: MS Office and web competency.
- Must be or become CPR/FA certified.
