Relief Veterinary Nurse
About the Role
We're building a trusted bench of exceptional Relief Veterinary Nurses who enjoy flexibility while helping us deliver outstanding patient care when our clinics need an extra set of hands. Whether you’re looking for extra hours, interested in urgent care experience, or wanting to learn more about Truss Vet, we’re eager to help you find the right opportunity with our team.
This posting is intended to build our network of qualified relief veterinary technicians/assistants. While there may not be an immediate opening that matches your availability, we're actively creating a database of experienced candidates to contact as clinics request coverage.
About Truss Vet
Truss Vet is a dynamic, fast-growing veterinary urgent care platform redefining how pets and their people experience care. In just a few years, we’ve grown from an idea to five successful clinics with a sixth on the horizon. Our mission is to elevate the human-animal bond by removing barriers to compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
Our urgent care clinics are tailored to pets with non-life-threatening issues that don’t belong in the ER but can’t wait for a regular vet visit. We deliver exceptional medical outcomes while ensuring a better quality of life for our team, positioning ourselves as the sweet spot between general practice and emergency care.

Responsibilities
As a Veterinary Nurse at Truss Vet, you are critical to the functioning and success of our clinic. Your role touches almost every process in the hospital, helping ensure each is executed smoothly for the benefit of our team, clients, and patients. You help set the standard for team well-being by cultivating a fun, work-hard/play-hard team environment and interacting with your coworkers fairly and professionally.
Your contributions will help us build one of the best clinics and places to work.
Core Values
- Dare to Care: Doing what is easy isn’t always right. Doing what is right isn’t always easy. We show up, give a sh!t, and approach situations with courage, empathy, and authenticity. “We care enough to have tough conversations and we handle tough conversations with care.”
- The Details Matter: Our standards are reflected in every detail. The client will never forget the hug you gave when they said goodbye to their best friend. Small comforts, like a blanket, can make a difference in a pet’s experience. Cleanliness and first impressions matter.
- Truss One Another: We’re accountable to the success of the team and each other. We have our teammates’ backs, catch each other's mistakes, and challenge each other to improve.
- Bowl Half Full: We see the good in others and in each other, find opportunities in challenges, meet discomfort with good humor, and kick open closed doors or make new ones.
