Lakeview Center provides comprehensive behavioral health care to adults and children with mental illnesses, drug and alcohol dependencies and intellectual disabilities. Across Northwest Florida, services range from residential treatment to outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, treatments for substance misuse and 24/7 support for those with serious mental illnesses.

About the role

The Specialized Foster Care program (SFC) is designed to provide specialized (Matrix Program) and therapeutic (CHIPS Program) services to support adolescents, ages 8-18, to manage emotional, behavioral, and psychiatric problems in a highly supportive, individualized and flexible foster home setting. The SFC program uses a multi-disciplinary approach, evidenced-based practice, specially trained foster parents, clinical counselors, collaboration and therapeutic interventions. The program also engages the adolescent’s family as he/she works toward reunification or adoption.

Primary duty is the performance of work requiring advanced knowledge (Master’s Degree) in the field of Human Services, and to use such advanced knowledge to consistently exercise discretion and independent judgment in providing the highest quality client-centered therapeutic services. This position serves as a consultant and mentor to Bachelor’s Level Direct Care employees and Behavioral Technicians, among other staff. Responsibilities include treating clients and ensuring services are provided and documented in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized, integrated mental health, substance abuse, and co-occurring services to meet the needs of individuals served and their families.
  • Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and direct service provision.
  • Manage client risk and safety through person-centered services.
  • Serve as a lead position in the provision of direct care, exercising discretion and independent judgment.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years’ experience working with children and families who are victims of physical abuse, neglect, or emotionally disturbed youth who have been adjudicated.
  • Ability to pass organization screening requirements, including state or federal background screenings.
  • Completion of 20 hours of required CCA (Child Caring Agency) training.
  • Ability to pass advanced level CPI Training.
  • Valid CPR certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Valid driver’s license from the state of residence, a good driving record, and insurability under the corporate policy.

Pay

Starting pay is $23.5846 per hour.
