Relay Technician I - SR

About the role

Under close and directive supervision, perform any work required for construction, installation, maintenance, and testing of all types of equipment used in the communication, control, and protection of electrical transmission and distribution lines, substations, and generating station equipment. This position is designated as a Safety Sensitive role and is subject to mandatory pre‑employment and random drug testing. Work place flexibility: Onsite. Primary location: Metairie, Louisiana. Job function: Field & Skilled Trade. FLSA status: Nonexempt. Relocation: not offered. Union: Non‑bargaining unit. Openings: 1. Travel: up to 25% of time.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, altering, removing, or replacing equipment or devices used in the protection, operation, or maintenance of circuit breakers, voltage regulators, transformers, generators, associated communication facilities, and other related equipment (e.g., relay calibration, relay functional checks, AC testing, CT testing, RTU/SCADA programming
