About the role

This role has multiple levels, open to candidates with 3 to 5 years minimum experience in customer service and sales. The successful candidate will be hired for the level of the position that aligns with their experience. Relationship Bankers build relationships with customers, engaging them via multiple channels including in-person, by appointment, and virtually to provide the best possible counsel while adopting a digital-first mindset.

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration under the terms of the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z. You will be subject to the required registration process, which includes a criminal background and credit check. Failure to meet or maintain any of the NMLS registration requirements may result in a rescission of your offer or termination of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow-up, asking questions and learning about their financial needs and banking channel preferences.
  • Identify solutions for new and existing clients based on their needs by effectively engaging and communicating with clients.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of consumer and business banking products and services, including digital products and services.
  • Provide a consistent, optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions.
  • Develop collaborative partnerships with branch team members and partners to best serve clients.
  • Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests, and submit credit applications.
  • Proactively educate clients on emerging and self-service digital products and services to assist with meeting their financial needs.
  • Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience and serve clients with operational excellence and accuracy.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • For Relationship Banker 1: Typically has less than four years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training.
  • For Relationship Banker 2: Typically has a minimum of four to five years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training.
  • For Sr Relationship Banker: Typically has five or more years of job-related, retail banking experience or a combination of experience and commensurate training.

Skills

  • Proven ability to build and foster relationships with clients through proactive outreach and follow-up.
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with clients.
  • Thorough knowledge of applicable bank and branch policies, procedures, and support systems.
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with using and demonstrating digital products and self-service technologies.
  • Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while leveraging a digital-first mindset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in making appropriate recommendations that meet customer needs both reactively and proactively.
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred.
  • For Relationship Banker 2 and Sr Relationship Banker: Thorough knowledge of all retail products and services, and experience in participating in sales campaigns/promotions.

Pay

  • Relationship Banker 1: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour.
  • Relationship Banker 2: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour.
  • Sr Relationship Banker: $29.00 - $32.00 per hour.

Schedule

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location for all scheduled workdays.
