About the role
The Retail Banker II acts as a customer liaison integral to delivering TD’s brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice. This role contributes to business growth by identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.
As a subject matter expert in the store, the Retail Banker II advises both customers and colleagues on all TD products, services, policies, and procedures, with a focus on personal and business banking. The role involves making product recommendations based on customer needs, highlighting features and benefits to support customers through life events, saving them time and money.
Responsibilities
- Establish and nurture customer relationships by actively listening to needs, engaging in conversation, and identifying additional solutions or partner referrals.
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management tools to proactively assess customer needs, identify solutions, and lead outbound sales activities.
- Evaluate and resolve customer issues, errors, and problems based on practices and procedures, escalating when necessary.
- Explain detailed and complex information to both customers and team members.
- Build working relationships with customers and related teams to deliver on TD’s "unexpectedly human" promise.
- Engage in conversations about loan products and facilitate application intake.
- Maintain active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
- Deliver a Legendary Customer Experience by building trust, providing consultative support, and advocating for customers with proactive insights.
- Act as a customer advocate by resolving issues, providing proactive tips, and educating customers on self-service options.
- Orchestrate customer flow in the lobby, warmly welcome customers, and guide them appropriately.
- Educate customers on self-service and digital banking options to meet their preferences.
- May act as a point of escalation for customer questions or concerns.
- Perform teller transactions, including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals, while adhering to fraud mitigation policies.
- Ensure compliance with operational activities in accordance with company guidelines, such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
- Promote TD’s full suite of products, services, and banking capabilities.
- Support timely and accurate completion of business processes and procedures, escalating non-standard or high-risk transactions as needed.
- Ensure documentation is accurate and reflects client/business intentions in compliance with relevant rules and regulations.
- Comply with the Bank Code of Conduct and contribute to operational excellence.
- Participate fully as a team member, supporting a positive work environment that promotes service, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
- Continuously enhance knowledge and expertise, participating in knowledge transfer within the team and business unit.
- Act as a brand ambassador for TD, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with team members to contribute to the success of the team and organization.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year degree preferred.
- 2+ years of related experience working with customers and/or sales in any capacity.
- Teller experience preferred.
- Cross-trained to handle customer transactions upon hire.
- Superior customer service skills and strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills and ability to schedule and prioritize work.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to provide community services, such as Financial Education classes.
- Notary License preferred.
- Must maintain active registration with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
- Must be eligible for employment under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act and for registration as a mortgage loan originator under the SAFE Act.
- Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and credit report check are required by federal law.

Pay
The base pay for this role ranges from $23.25 to $30.75 USD per hour. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities, allowing colleagues to progress through the salary range as they advance in their role. The actual base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business needs.

This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week.
