About the role

This role is a banking professional who works across multiple bank locations, playing a vital role in bringing TD's human, relationship-driven banking experience to life. You will cultivate and sustain client relationships by delivering personalized banking solutions that support long-term financial goals. This position is accountable for acquiring new clients and deepening existing relationships through consultative engagement, needs-based guidance, deep product knowledge, and disciplined execution while upholding TD's risk and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Cultivate and sustain long-term client relationships through leads management and outbound efforts in a bank location; identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and help clients meet their financial objectives.
  • Proactively engage in client conversations with curiosity, actively listening and accurately capturing information while leveraging TD systems and tools to identify appropriate client solutions and next best actions. Ensure consistent follow-through across all client commitments, including partner hand-offs.
  • Lead client engagement across walk-in, appointment, and outbound opportunities, establishing credibility and deepening relationships through purposeful, goals-based discovery. Uncover both expressed and unexpressed client needs using advanced questioning and active listening.
  • Apply strong banking and financial knowledge to interpret client needs and validate understanding. Provide clear, tailored guidance on a broader range of products and services, explaining options, benefits, and risks to support informed client decisions.
  • Deliver advanced, needs-based guidance and manage more complex client scenarios, ensuring recommendations reflect a holistic understanding of client goals and financial position. Drive partner collaboration and ensure effective execution of referrals.
  • Serve as a client advocate by anticipating client needs, building and maintaining deeper relationships through ongoing engagement, personalized guidance, and proactive outreach.
  • Engage clients on mortgage products, accept mortgage inquiries, refer clients for mortgage solutions, or other residential lending activities.
  • Champion the client experience by ensuring continuity, follow-through, and strong connection to TD’s broader network of expertise.
  • Adhere to and reinforce all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate documentation, strong risk awareness, and protection of the client and the Bank.
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for client concerns, resolving issues end-to-end where possible and ensuring timely escalation when required.
  • Lead client acquisition, retention, and relationship growth for the bank location by proactively identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and improve client outcomes.
  • Apply sound judgment to balance client needs with risk and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate capture of client information and alignment to policies.
  • Consistently bring TD’s brand and client strategy to life through every interaction, reinforcing a differentiated, relationship-led experience.
  • Maintain compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations to minimize risk and protect the client.
  • Act as a trusted first point of contact in safeguarding the integrity of the client relationship by operating within compliance of AML laws and regulatory requirements. Verify client identification, maintain data integrity, and follow established authentication and documentation standards.
  • Identify potential discrepancies, material changes, or risk indicators and escalate appropriately in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Act in accordance with TD's code of conduct and ethical standards in every decision.
  • Exercise sound judgment in more complex scenarios, identifying risks, resolving issues, and escalating as appropriate.
  • Act as a team leader to monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities.
  • Complete required training and continuously strengthen risk and compliance knowledge.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by aligning to TD’s Model, Brand, and Culture as a fully participating team member.
  • Take accountability for outcomes and performance by participating in performance and development activities; proactively share insights, lessons learned, and best practices across the team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • 2+ years of experience engaging clients in a sales, service, or relationship-building capacity, including identifying needs and delivering solutions.
  • Ability to travel same-day to multiple work locations within a designated area.
  • Prior experience in a banking environment, including teller, platform, or relationship banking roles preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct consultative client conversations, including uncovering needs and recommending appropriate products and services.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and confidently to diverse client populations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, independently organize work, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgment and problem-solving skills in client-facing and operational scenarios.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace technologies.
  • Ability to complete required job-related training upon hire.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as required for the role.
  • Notary License (or ability to obtain) preferred.

Pay

$24.00 - $33.50 USD per hour. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities to all colleagues. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.

Regulatory Requirements

This position falls within the definition of Loan Originator as defined under Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36, and the definition of Mortgage Loan Originator as defined under the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act), 12 U.S.C.5102 et seq., and its implementing regulations, 12 CFR Part 1007.

  • Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36.
  • Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) in accordance with the SAFE Act.
  • Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority, are required by federal law for this position.
