This role is a banking professional who plays a vital role in bringing TD's human, relationship-driven banking experience to life by partnering with clients to help them confidently achieve their financial goals through personalized solutions that support overall financial well-being. The role is accountable for acquiring and deepening client relationships through consultative engagement, strong product knowledge, and disciplined execution that drive meaningful client outcomes while adhering to TD's risk and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Drive acquisition in a bank location by engaging clients through walk-in opportunities, lead management, and outbound outreach, building meaningful connections that help clients achieve their financial goals.
- Engage clients with curiosity, establish purpose for the interaction, and conduct meaningful, goals-based discovery to uncover client needs and priorities.
- Apply foundational banking knowledge to interpret client needs and validate understanding. Clearly explain relevant options, including features, benefits, and potential risks, using simple and transparent language to help clients make informed decisions aligned to their financial goals.
- Deliver personalized solutions and next best actions, connecting clients to appropriate products, services, or partners.
- Execute with accuracy and discipline, establish clear next steps and follow-up, and reinforce the client relationship to support long-term financial progress.
- Serve as a trusted client advocate by providing ongoing guidance, educating clients on TD products, services, and digital capabilities to simplify everyday banking and improve financial wellness.
- Build and strengthen client relationships through consistent, personalized interactions that reflect a client-first approach.
- Engage clients on mortgage products, accept mortgage inquiries, refer clients for mortgage solutions, or other residential lending activities.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate documentation, strong risk awareness, and protection of the client and the Bank.
- Complete required training and continuously strengthen risk and compliance knowledge.
- Share insights, lessons learned, and best practices across the team.
- Maintain compliance when completing operational activities in accordance with company guidelines and regulations to minimize risk and protect the client.
- Act as a trusted first point of contact in safeguarding the integrity of the client relationship by operating within compliance of AML laws and regulatory requirements, accurately verifying client identification, maintaining data integrity, and following established authentication and documentation standards.
- Identify potential discrepancies, material changes, or risk indicators and escalate appropriately in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Act in accordance with TD's code of conduct and ethical standards in every decision.
- Deliver a welcoming, personalized client experience by actively engaging in meaningful discovery that builds trust and establishes credibility.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for client concerns, resolving issues end-to-end where possible and ensuring timely escalation when required.
- Drive client acquisition, retention, and relationship growth for the bank location by proactively identifying opportunities to deepen relationships and improve client outcomes.
- Apply sound judgment to balance client needs with risk and compliance requirements, ensuring accurate capture of client information and alignment to policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- 1+ years of experience engaging with clients in a service, sales, or relationship-building environment.
- Teller or cash-handling experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Experience educating clients on products and services in a consultative manner preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and problem-solving skills in client interactions.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar workplace technologies.
- Ability to complete required job-related training upon hire.
- Ability to obtain and maintain active registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) as required for the role.
- Notary License (or ability to obtain) preferred.
- Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act, 12 CFR Part 1026.36.
- Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS in accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE Act).
- Satisfactory results on a criminal background check and a credit report check, and statements/certification from job applicant regarding administrative, civil, and/or criminal findings by any government agency/authority, are required by federal law for this position.
