About the role

This Retail Banker I role is a customer-facing position responsible for delivering TD’s brand promise through financial expertise and consultative advice. The position supports business growth by identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers achieve their financial goals and strengthen their relationship with the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a customer liaison, providing routine transactions such as check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals while monitoring fraud mitigation and adhering to operational policies and procedures.
  • Proactively educate customers on TD products and services, making recommendations based on their needs and highlighting features and benefits that support financial goals and life events.
  • Utilize customer relationship management tools to conduct customer assessments, identify solutions, and lead outbound sales activities.
  • Independently resolve customer issues, errors, and problems, escalating when necessary.
  • Build working relationships with customers and explain detailed or complicated information clearly and concisely.
  • Engage in lobby leadership by orchestrating customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, discovering initial needs, and guiding them appropriately.
  • Act as a point of escalation for customer questions or concerns.
  • Educate customers on self-service options and digital channels that meet their banking preferences.
  • Perform a variety of teller transactions while ensuring compliance with risk frameworks such as Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act.
  • Participate in daily store operations to ensure alignment with TD’s risk framework and support timely completion of business processes.
  • Support business objectives for operational excellence by understanding accountability in driving an operationally sound location.
  • Contribute to a positive work environment by aligning with TD’s Model, Brand, and Culture, and participating fully as a team member.
  • Collaborate with partner bankers to make effective referrals and contribute to the success of the team and organization.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve work delivery with high attention to quality standards and embrace change.
  • Engage in conversations about loan products and facilitate application intake.
  • Must maintain an active registration status with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience working with customers or in sales in any capacity, or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience.
  • Teller experience preferred.
  • Must be able to complete teller training upon hire to handle customer transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations while educating them on products and services.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize work and work independently within deadlines.
  • Sound judgment in decision-making and effective problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Notary License preferred.

Pay

The base pay range for this role is $24.25 – $32.50 USD per hour. The actual base pay offered may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. TD is committed to fair and equitable compensation, with opportunities for salary progression over time as colleagues advance in their roles.
