About the role
Relationship Bankers at U.S. Bank build and maintain client relationships through in‑person, appointment‑based, and virtual interactions. The role emphasizes a digital‑first mindset, providing tailored counsel, educating clients on deposit and loan products, and recommending solutions that align with each customer’s unique goals and needs.
Responsibilities
- Engage customers across multiple channels (in‑person, appointments, virtual) to provide personalized banking counsel.
- Build trust‑based relationships by assessing and addressing customers’ banking needs.
- Obtain and process customer and account information accurately.
- Demonstrate and educate clients on available deposit, loan, and digital products and services.
- Recommend solutions tailored to each customer’s goals and preferences.
- Proactively outreach and follow up with clients to understand their financial needs and channel preferences.
- Identify and present appropriate solutions for new and existing clients.
- Maintain working knowledge of consumer and business banking products, including digital offerings.
- Provide a consistent, optimal client experience, including greeting clients and processing basic transactions.
- Collaborate with branch team members and partners to best serve clients.
- Open new consumer and business accounts, complete service requests, and submit credit applications.
- Educate clients on emerging self‑service digital products and services.
- Leverage available resources and technologies to optimize the client experience with operational excellence and accuracy.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typically less than four years of retail banking experience, or a combination of experience and comparable training.
- Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008 and Regulation Z, including successful criminal background and credit checks.
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Proven ability to build and foster client relationships through proactive outreach and follow‑up.
- Strong communication skills for effective client engagement.
- Thorough knowledge of bank and branch policies, procedures, and support systems.
- Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience using and demonstrating digital products and self‑service technologies.
- Ability to explore and identify a customer’s true needs while applying a digital‑first mindset.
- Basic proficiency in making appropriate product recommendations that meet customer needs both reactively and proactively.
- Experience in the financial services industry (preferred).
Location expectations

Pay
Pay Range: $24.92 – $30.46 (hourly), with additional incentive, recognition, equity stock purchase, and pension benefits subject to eligibility.
