About the role
The Relationship Banker I builds key relationships with current and prospective customers, delivering a range of banking services focused on personal finances, lending, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates passion by building and sharing knowledge of all retail bank products, services, and specialty product lines.
- Listens to and understands customers’ needs to make appropriate recommendations; engages with customers to present and cross-sell products and solutions based on their financial needs.
- Handles all functions related to opening and closing accounts, including assisting customers with account selection, performing account research, and complying with BSA and CIP requirements.
- Advises customers on appropriate consumer loan products; maintains knowledge of loan policies and procedures, takes applications, keys them into the centralized loan system for underwriting, communicates decisions to customers, and closes and funds consumer loans.
- Collaborates with other associates and lines of business to make referrals, meeting or exceeding designated individual and branch goals.
- Maintains knowledge of teller operations, including processing transactions, balancing cash drawers, Teller Cash Recyclers (TCR), vault operations, and basic branch functions.
- Adheres to all company compliance and security guidelines, including dual control functions, records administration, and completion of required logs and reports.
- Ensures all departmental documents and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including completion of required compliance training.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a customer service role, preferred.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, business correspondence, and government regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Ability to maintain simple written correspondence.
