Accountabilities
- Customer Service - 80%
- Provide a high level of customer service, including greeting walk-in customers & answering incoming calls.
- Perform paying & receiving functions for customers, such as cashing checks, taking deposits, withdrawals, mortgage, consumer loan & other payments.
- Assist customers with their current account needs, including checking, savings, certificates, & safety deposit boxes.
- Ensure daily cash balances are kept secure & within assigned drawer limits.
- Understand & comply with relevant laws & compliance regulations, such as bank secrecy act, privacy, & funds availability policy.
- Recognize & handle suspicious behavior, making decisions when necessary to consult management.
- Retain/Expand (RE) - 15%
- Successfully retain & expand product & service offerings for existing clients.
- Participate in joint calls with partners & contact clients by phone, mail, email & in person to discuss account relationships.
- Provide recommendations to meet clients’ banking needs, including opening new accounts when needed.
- Recommend policy/procedure enhancements to better serve customers & coworkers.
- Refer clients with lending needs to appropriate team members.
- Achieve personal & team partnership goals based on annual targets.
- Achieve goals set for the Branch & Bank as defined by the bank’s annual organizational objectives.
- Have a thorough understanding of current market trends/conditions.
- Communicate the value of bank products & services effectively to clients or introduce them to experts.
- Other - 5%
- Assess emerging issues & potential liabilities.
- Support the compliance function as needed.
- Assist in other bank activities as requested.

- Education, Experience & Skills:
- High school Degree or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in a community bank OR 1-2 years of experience in a customer service environment
- High numerical aptitude
- Dexterity to count money
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Skills needed in a typical office environment, including computer skills & utilization of office equipment
