About the Role

As a Relationship Banker I, your primary responsibility is to make clients feel welcome and establish relationships by providing an extraordinary client experience with every interaction. This role primarily involves helping clients with account opening, account servicing/maintenance, and transaction processing. This position is intended as a first step toward becoming an experienced relationship banker and elevating to the Relationship Banker II role.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for new account opening for all personal and basic business needs.
• Display excellent communication and servicing skills when engaging with clients through oral and written means.
• Identify customer needs during interactions while identifying opportunities to grow customer relationships through a disciplined sales focus.
• Create and maintain strong client relationships.
• Multi-task and offer a supportive team perspective.
• Comply with bank security and operational policies/procedures.
• Master computer programs used to assist clients in daily needs as well as any software skills necessary for branch automation and efficiency (e.g., service events, workflows, email).
• Acquire and maintain through training and education an understanding of all regulatory compliance requirements as they relate to this role.
• Conduct client-facing transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, payments, etc.
• Operate within guidelines for cash balancing and error resolution.
• Perform operational functions such as ITM balancing, vault balancing, card @ once daily audits, shipments, and opening/closing procedures.
• Help clients with simple service issues such as debit card replacement, PIN changes, stop payments, and dormant accounts.
• Consistently demonstrate MVB Core Values.
• Demonstrate desire to cross-train by learning complex business account opening skills and treasury product sales and setup before transitioning to the Relationship Banker II role.
• Demonstrate the desire to participate in community relations events/activities (CRA).
• Maintain professionalism with clients at every touchpoint.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of cash handling experience or equivalent customer service experience.
• 1 year or more in customer service in banking, financial services, or a goal-driven sales position (preferred).
• Solid oral and written communication skills.
