About the Role
The Relationship Banker serves as a trusted financial guide and dynamic customer champion, deepening customer relationships through exceptional service and personalized financial guidance while supporting branch operations. This position also acts as a back-up for the Area Manager, demonstrating leadership readiness and cross-functional skills.
Responsibilities
- Consult with Consumer and Small Business clients to gather financial information (income, assets, investments, credit) and analyze it to develop customized banking plans.
- Deliver an exceptional client experience with a client-first attitude.
- Acquire new relationships through referrals and outreach efforts.
- Identify financial needs and recommend tailored products and services, educating clients on banking solutions and digital tools.
- Represent FirstBank at community events, civic organizations, and networking activities.
- Serve as a back-up to the Area Manager, supporting branch operations and team leadership during absences.
- Assist with teller transactions and ensure smooth daily branch functionality.
- Collaborate with internal partners (Financial Advisors, Mortgage Bankers, Wealth Management) to connect clients with expert resources.
- Demonstrate initiative and product knowledge to present financial options using a consultative approach.
- Promote digital banking adoption and educate clients on new services and technologies.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- 4+ years of retail banking experience with a solid understanding of banking products.
- Proven success in building customer relationships and delivering customer service.
- Experience adhering to banking policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
