Relationship Advisor
About the Role
Hudson Valley Credit Union is recruiting for the position of Relationship Advisor. The primary function of this role is to provide the highest level of member service through efficient, accurate transaction processing and a consultative needs-based sales approach. This position focuses on establishing new member relationships, deepening and retaining existing relationships, and cross-selling HVCU products and services.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process transactions.
- Educate members about the most convenient ways to complete transactions, including branch services, Internet Banking, mobile app, audio response, and the Contact Center.
- Resolve member complaints and concerns quickly and efficiently, involving other functional areas as needed.
- Handle large volumes of cash and negotiable items.
- Assist management with daily operational tasks, including operator, ATM, TellerInfinity, and branch proof.
- Open new memberships, accounts, and loans, and process loan and account transactions.
- Refer members to branch business partners for consultation on Financial Services, Insurance Services, Real Estate, and Business products as appropriate.
- Consistently follow all applicable policies and procedures.
- Utilize required programs and systems to assist with cross-selling HVCU products and services.
- Acquire in-depth knowledge of credit union products and services through ongoing training and education.
- Train new Universal Branch Associates as needed.
- Meet or exceed established individual and team goals through consistent application of the HVCU Sales and Service model.
- Support marketing programs and promotions by creating member awareness.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Participate in required and recommended training, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training.
- Participate in Credit Union teams, projects, and strategic initiatives.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including punctuality.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or state-authorized equivalent; or a current high school senior with a certificate of satisfactory academic standing.
- NYS Notary Public license required within 12 months of obtaining the position.
- Registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) required.
- Minimum 1 year of customer service and sales experience in a financial institution or retail environment.
- Previous Teller or cash handling experience in a financial institution or retail environment preferred.
