About the role

This position contributes to the effective administration of WoodmenLife’s reinsurance program using the TAI Reinsurance System and WoodmenLife’s admin systems. Supports the compilation and analysis of data to be used in the reporting and analyzing of WoodmenLife’s reinsurance program. Provides other financial reporting assistance as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and coding reinsurance records, preparing and submitting data to reinsurers, processing monthly reinsurance premiums, and reviewing reinsurance reports and data to ensure accurate coding, treaty assignment, and automated processing, escalating discrepancies to management for resolution.
  • Supports timely and accurate preparation of automatic submission of premium payments and reporting to our reinsurers.
  • Reviews and implements reinsurance treaties.
  • Supports the effective administration of the facultative reinsurance function.
  • Administers the Reinsurance Claim Function for the Organization.
  • Provides Reinsurance Data for the Organization’s Financial Statements.
  • Analyzes and monitors the waiver risk reinsured on the Organization's certificates.
  • Meets expectations for attendance and punctuality in accordance with the expectations established by your supervisor and WoodmenLife policy.
  • Provides other financial reporting assistance as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.
  • Ability to work overtime as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of insurance related experience.
  • Knowledge of the requirements and rules associated with reinsurance administration and the calculation of reinsurance net amounts at risk and reinsurance premiums on a variety of reinsured types (MRT and COINS) and plans.
  • Knowledge of the Organization's products and how to interpret these contracts.
  • Knowledge of WoodmenLife's Administration systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Prefer experience in Adobe Acrobat and with MS Word and Excel.
  • Superior problem solving skills and analytical skills.
  • Strong aptitude for attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills required to handle multiple projects.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide seamless, trustworthy, attentive and resourceful (S.T.A.R.) customer service.
  • Engages well with others and is passionate about providing an exemplary customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience with TAI reinsurance systems.
  • FLMI designation, or active pursuit of it.
