Reinsurance Administration Lead (HYBRID or REMOTE)

Equitable is seeking a Reinsurance Administration Lead who is passionate about driving operational excellence and delivering accurate, effective reinsurance administration across our life and annuity business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end administration of reinsurance treaties, including setup, interpretation, and ongoing maintenance
  • Own and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to reinsurance
  • Review and validate settlement calculations, including revenue sharing, fee components, and ownership-based allocations
  • Perform and oversee reconciliations between administrative systems, investment data, and general ledger outputs
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, variances, and breaks across multiple data sources
  • Maintain and enhance SOX/MAR controls, including documentation and evidence supporting key processes
  • Partner with Actuarial, Finance, Investments, and IT to ensure accurate data flows and reporting alignment
  • Serve as a key contact for internal and external audits
  • Support implementation and enhancement of reinsurance administration platforms
  • Drive process standardization, automation, and efficiency initiatives
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in insurance and/or accounting, reinsurance administration, or financial reporting
  • Established knowledge of reinsurance structures
  • Experience supporting financial close and reconciliation processes
  • Proven understanding of reinsurance treaty mechanics and accounting implications
  • Demonstrated ownership and execution mindset
  • Experience with reconciliations and control frameworks
  • Familiarity with subledger systems and large data environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA
  • Driven analytical and detail-oriented approach
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Proactive problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with reinsurance administration systems (e.g., TAI)
  • Exposure to Bermuda statutory reporting
  • Experience working with external reinsurers and asset managers
  • Knowledge of SOX and audit requirements
  • Demonstrated functional ownership and subject matter expertise
  • Drives execution and continuous improvement
  • Influences effectively in a matrixed organization
  • Mentors and develops team members
