Rehabilitation Counselor Location: All 6 Facilities in Cranston, Rhode Island Schedule: Monday-Friday, 08 AM - 04 PM approximately 35 hours per week Duration: 2+ Months contract Pay Rate: $30.00/hr Position Overview Department of Corrections is seeking four experienced and licensed behavioral health professionals to provide substance use disorder treatment services to incarcerated individuals across all six secure correctional facilities in Cranston The selected clinicians will work collaboratively with correctional, medical, and behavioral health staff to create a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment while delivering evidence-based treatment services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive Bio-Psycho-Social AssessmentsDevelop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based practicesProvide individual counseling and therapeutic interventionsFacilitate psychoeducational and treatment-focused group counseling sessionsApply ASAM criteria in assessment, treatment planning, and level-of-care recommendationsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of careSupport discharge planning and re-entry preparation when applicableMaintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in electronic medical record systemsFoster a safe, recovery-oriented treatment environment within a correctional setting Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Behavioral Health, or a related field • Active Rhode Island license in good standing as one of the following:LCDPLCDCSLMHCLICSWLMFT• Demonstrated experience diagnosing and treating substance use disorders • Working knowledge of ASAM Criteria • Experience facilitating both individual and group counselling • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in correctional, forensic, residential, or community behavioural health settings • Bilingual Spanish-speaking ability • Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems Required Skills • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to build rapport with diverse populations • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment • Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced clinical setting • Professional interaction with patients, medical staff, and security personnel #TB_ PH #ZRHC #TBL1 Why TalentBurst?
