About the role
A Rehab Aide assists the licensed therapist in the provision of physical therapy, speech therapy, and/or occupational therapy treatments in accordance with state practice and professional guidelines. The Rehab Aide may work in an inpatient, outpatient, and/or skilled nursing/long term care setting. The Rehab Aide is supervised by Rehab Services management and maintains a positive working relationship with other health professionals and ancillary staff.
Responsibilities
- Provides non-skilled patient care activities as directed by therapist or therapy assistant.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment by wiping down equipment, preparing mat tables for the next patient, and managing soiled linens.
- Assures equipment is ready for use.
- Assists with patient communication regarding schedule or appointments.
- Assists with audits and reports.
- Answers the phones.
- Maintains appropriate levels of supplies and assures equipment is ready for use.
- Stocks shelves, monitors inventory, and orders supplies.
- Assists with new employee, student, and volunteer training.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year Healthcare experience (Preferred)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
