About the role

The Rehabilitation Technician provides direct and indirect patient-care related activities and/or education under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and/or Speech/Language Pathologist. They monitor the patient's response to activities and report this response to the supervising therapist.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an environment of care
• Performs general departmental maintenance
• Cleans equipment
• Stocks linens and supplies
• Maintains temperature and function of equipment
• Schedules and registers patients
• Supports the safe and efficient operations of the department

Requirements

• CNA Certification preferred
• No additional requirements for hire
• Experience: None required or preferred
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Training: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Health Sciences, or related field

Qualifications

• Effective communication skills, especially one-on-one
• Willingness and ability to work with any patient types
• Ability to deliver patient care independently and refer complex issues to supervisor
• Coordination or supervision of volunteers in therapy areas
• Training and assisting supervisor with onboarding new team members
• Tracking and reporting administrative tasks for billing and charging purposes

Skills

• Computer proficiency (word processing, spreadsheets, databases)
• Exercise coaching experience
• Previous experience in a hospital/clinic setting
• Personal trainer experience
