Rehab Services Technician

About the role

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, LLC (IBJI), Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations, has a part-time (20 hours per week) rehabilitation technician opening at their Westmont location.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast-paced orthopedic rehab office.
• Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linen, stocking supplies.
• Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
• Daily, weekly, and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
• Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including setup on equipment and modalities.
• Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient's exercise program.
• Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
• Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
• Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
• For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
• Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient's identity.
• Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
• Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
• Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.

Requirements

• High school Diploma required.
• Available to work 30 hours per week.
• Must be a current student or have graduated from high school.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
• Skilled in Windows; MS Office; Email access.
