About the Role

IBJI’s Rehab division has a part-time (15 hours per week) rehabilitation technician opening at the Tinley Park Plaza location. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical and occupational therapy setting. Rehabilitation Technicians assist clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient’s overall quality of life and function.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast-paced orthopedic rehab office.
• Perform daily clinic maintenance, including cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linens, and stocking supplies.
• Maintain orderly and safe conditions in the clinic by organizing exercise equipment and ensuring it is out of patients’ way.
• Complete daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
• Act as an extender to therapists by assisting with patient exercise programs, including setting up equipment and modalities.
• Communicate observations about patients’ exercise programs to therapists.
• Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care, including printing home exercise programs under their direction.
• Manage inventory of clinical and non-clinical materials.
• For clinics utilizing techs for front desk support, perform clerical duties such as checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning documents, and answering phones.
• Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
• Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient identity.
• Work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Demonstrate professionalism through prompt attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be a current student or have completed a high school education.
• Available to work 12-15 hours per week.

Skills

• Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with effective time management skills.
• Professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Windows, MS Office, and email.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds to waist height.

Pay

$15.00 - $16.00 hourly.
