Responsibilities

  • Evaluates and treats patients in both the inpatient and outpatient physical therapy setting.
  • Provides accurate and timely documentation and coordinates care with other health care professionals.
  • Helps to develop and prepare monthly productivity and quality reports.
  • Participates in community outreach and serves as a resource in community education.

Requirements

  • Assists Director in daily operations of the Rehab department and coordinates with Lead Therapist in daily operations of the Outpatient clinic.
  • Maintains the standard of clinical practice at current best practices level.
  • Aids in the implementation of policies and procedures which satisfy all current regulatory agencies.
  • Provides direct patient care in both the inpatient and outpatient settings including evaluation and treatment.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner in compliance with department standards.
  • Ensures a safe and productive work environment.
  • Assists Director in providing ongoing training to staff and in collecting performance improvement data.
  • Aids in quality metrics and performance improvement for Rehab.
  • Assists Director to orient new staff with organizational and departmental policies/procedures.
  • Trains new staff so they are well prepared and effectively supported to handle their responsibilities.
  • Contributes to a nurturing and healthy work environment for all team members, ensuring the highest quality of care is delivered.
  • Captures and coordinates all clinical site education through in-services and clinical education of assigned students effectively acting as the Center Coordinator of Clinical Education.
  • Provides feedback to the director; participates and contributes in hiring decisions and performance evaluations for Rehab staff.
  • Provides leadership when the director is unavailable and acts as a role model to all staff.
  • Actively participates in community outreach including participation in lectures, classes and in-services.
  • Serves as a resource in community based education.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Experience: Minimum five years of previous experience as a Physical Therapist, plus one to two years in a lead role preferred. Experience in both acute and outpatient settings within the last 3-5 years also preferred.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Current California State License, Current BLS Certification, professional association membership a plus.

  • Strong charting/documentation skills.
  • Able to effectively communicate with a diverse population; Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus.
